In Response to Chris "Pop Up Advertising"
I want to start by saying, don't do this! This is the least effective way to advertise whatever you might be trying to get across to the consumer. Everyone knows that pop ups equal frustration. When we are websurfing or going to a site, we are there for a reason. We are not there to see what the pop ups have to offer. The first thing I do when a pop up happens is I get it off the page. I dont care what it wants me to see. The most effective way is to create an advertisement banner. Make it creative and bright with as much detail as possible and make sure the letters are bold and easily read. Then either pay a fee to have your banner placed on a site or work with a free online banner exchange. You will be able to have your banner on lots and lots of sites. It will already be there when you enter the site and if you decide to click on it you can but it won't annoy the hell out of you by behing a popup that you want to get rid of so bad. With pop ups I feel like the product is trying to be shuved down my throat. Its like someone shoving something they want to sell to you in your face and your so annoyed that your just going to walk away. There are better ways. Research webrings if you want to learn about another very useful way.
