Classic Apple I Pod In Declining Stage

The Apple I Pod was a huge success when it first came out in early 2001. It was so innovative and incredible that you could hold that many songs on this one little device. Its growth stage lasted years because no other company had the product. Eventually other products were released such as the zune by microsoft which gave the IPod competition. When this happens its onec sky high prices must come down some what to compete with the other products new to the market. Apple came up with many differnt variations such as different colors and smaller gigs. After about 10 years since its been in its introductory stage on the market, the IPod had reached its maturity stage. Their sales curve has peaked and it is now in the declining stage because of all the new products Apple has just made like the IPad. It amazes me how long its been since IPods were first introduced. I remember being a kid and getting one. It was the coolest thing. What do you think is the next big step from IPods? Do you think Apple did a good job at marketing it for all these years?
